CRAZY FREAK TIPS

I might be slightly crazy. I do things that people don’t normally do. I see things that people don’t normally see. But no, I’m not talking about seeing ghosts and hearing voices here. I’m talking about following dreams and seeing opportunities. (Duh.) And that makes me slightly — uhm –less normal. Because society is not currently cut out for people who don’t follow the masses.  I bet you really want to do every single thing on this list. But you probably won’t. And that makes me really sad. What would everyone think? Liberation is a path for the brave... let's get started 1|| Call in sick (invent an illness that sounds embarrassing and serious, and you won’t get asked any more questions. . . ) 2|| Hijack someone’s day and take them out for a treat (showing up at your friends workplace in tears and explaining there’s an emergency might get her/him a day off. . . ). 3|| Break up with a ‘friend’. “honey, it’s not you — it’s me”. 4|| Leave the dirty dishes on th

10 Simple Habbit to Building Positive Attitude

The Challenge: Having a negative attitude keeps us from being happy and impacts the people we interact with. The Science: Science tells us that having a positive attitude has a direct connection with happiness and success. The Solution: Make positivity a habit by making these small adjustments to your daily life and mindset! Our life is a reflection of our attitude. Without even noticing it, it can be easy to become negative and cynical towards the world as we are continuously exposed to tragedy and injustice in the media and as we experience our own heartache and distress. Not only is a negative attitude preventing you from fully enjoying your life, it can have a significant impact on your environment. The energy a person brings with them is contagious. One of the best things you can offer your family, organization or community is your positive attitude. In the wise words of Michael Jackson, “If you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a chang

Grumpy or Happy

Doc, Dopey, Bashful, Sneezy, Sleepy, Grumpy, and Happy are the names of the seven dwarfs…from the movie “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. And, for the purposes of this message, we are going to drop five and focus on two… Grumpy and Happy. Why? Because these two characters, these polar opposites beautifully demonstrate the best and worst attitude one can have as it relates to life and work. HAPPY A common misconception of work for far too many people is that they associate it with hardship, misfortune, pain, inconvenience, and stress. However, when you look at your work as a curse, as a grind…as something you must endure…you are missing out on one of the greatest joys of life. Kahil Gibran the Lebanese artist and philosopher said in his essay On Work that…” work is love made visible “, and I for one wholeheartedly agree. The word love is appropriate because it is precisely right in both the meaning and the feeling that it carries. Work can, should and must be a

The Difference between Gold and Silver

The Difference Between Gold and Silver Small Actions – Big Results Olympic champion swimmer Michael Phelps. As the Rio Olympics are coming to a close this evening, I am reminded of a 60 Minutes interview with Olympic Champion Michael Phelps. During the interview, the host Anderson Cooper showed pictures of Phelps winning the 100-meter butterfly final at the Water Cube in Beijing by ONE-HUNDREDTH of a second over Serbia’s Milorad Cavic. Phelps admitted that his winning margin of one-hundredth of a second was almost impossible to see but it was because of ONE small difference, on the final stroke Cavic lifted his head up just slightly which acted as a mini speed bump and I kept my head down streamlined. Small stuff matters a lot! It’s important to keep in mind that high achievers in every vocation turn over all stones, understanding and exploiting to their benefit the fact that the critical difference between merely acceptable versus excellent results lies in the sm

Premier League Preview Part One

Premier league preview part one The English premier league kicks off in a matter of hours and we can't but preview as always, the wait is over, men have moved, managers have changed jobs, but the league remains. Notable absentee from the dugout this time is the self styled relegation battle expert Sam Alardyce, who surprisingly was named as the new manager of the Three Lions, Jose Mourinho made a quick return to active service after being laid off by Chelsea last winter following another defeat at Leicester, and of course the biggest name (arguably) from the new bunch has to be Pep Guardiola, who now manages the blue half of Manchester. It's a season like no other, with big names leading out the teams in different ideologies and tactics, but there can only be one winner, and there can only be four champions league place finishers, so who misses out? Watford have a veteran in Walter Mazzari, Slaven Bilic proved his mettle last term, Mauricio Pochetinno gave a good fight as w

EPL EPIC STARTER

Where will the first goal come from? There can only be one winner at the end of the thirty eight round bout, it's a marathon, the new managers want the title, the longest serving Frenchman somewhere in north London got points to prove, the rookies that made statements last term, predominantly from north and west London will try again, but how will the first round go? Here's our take at the predictions table. Saturday 12th August Hull City vs Leicester City KCOM stadium 12:30pm Who would have thought it rightly, 365 days ago that Leicester City would be filing out on a day like this as a league defending champions? Not even the best of crystal ball custodians would have predicted that, but here we are, the champions travel to new comers Hull for

10 year old wins Child Genius competition

She was named winner after her mother’s intervention. Ten-year-old Rhea has been named Child Genius 2016 after her mother intervened to dispute one of the answers in the Channel 4 show’s final. The west London schoolgirl beat nine-year-old Saffy by spelling the word “eleemosynary”, meaning charitable. Rhea got through to the head-to-head after her mother contested an incorrect answer during her earlier specialist round about Florence Nightingale. Independent adjudicator Olivia van der Werff later ruled it was acceptable. The dispute centred on the question: “To which medical officer did Florence Nightingale report in the Crimea?” Rhea’s answer Duncan Menzies was initially deemed incorrect. But her mother Sonal, who gave up her job as an obstetrician to help educate Rhea, successfully argued that Nightingale effectively reported to every medical officer. The programme was watched on Channel 4 on Tuesday by an average of 1.3 million viewers. Some of the ques

10 Ways to Take Control of Your Day

Minimizing Distraction Stay focused at work to increase your productivity. "So, what did you do at the weekend?" begins the water cooler conversation. It can feel like some welcome downtime from your intense workload during a busy day, but time flies and, 15 minutes later, you realize that you're late for a meeting with your manager. And the stress returns. Sometimes, it seems as though our workplaces have been designed to break our focus. Even when you're "snowed under" with work, you'll still likely check your emails regularly, read customers' Twitter comments, or – even though your manager would disapprove – surf the Internet for cheap vacation flights. Dr Gloria Mark, Professor of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine, says that distractions such as these are both stressful and costly. She has found that it takes an average of 23 minutes for a person to fully regain his or her focus on a task after being distrac
